Emma Cherry – Daytime Entertainments Coordinator
3rd year American Studies student. I wanted to get involved with summer party because it’s one of the largest and most exciting events on the student calendar, and I wanted to be a part of making it an unmissable day! I also wanted to develop my knowledge of how events are run, as I intend to pursue a career in event management following my degree.
I’m most looking forward to the actual day of the event, where we will see all of our ideas and planning come together in what I hope will be the best summer party to date!
Kelly Gilmour-Grassam – Entertainments Coordinator
2nd year History student. I wanted to get involved in Summer Party 2012 because I had so much fun helping out last year and wanted to do it all again. I’m looking forward to seeing some great acts, celebrating end of exams and hopefully some scorching weather to top it all off.
Abbie Hollebone – Entertainments Coordinator
1st year Sociology student. I’d heard about the Summer Party before I even started at Nottingham University and knew it was something I wanted to attend but to get involved was even better! I often go to gigs and festivals throughout the year so I believe organising one will be a challenge I can really get involved with. I’m looking forward to meeting loads of new people and enjoying the Summer Party 2012 when all of our hard work pays off!
Cherry Yau (yes, as in the fruit!) – Fancy Dress Parade Coordinator
So, what do you need to know about me? Well, with regard to general interests, I am like your average 21 year old girl. I love shopping, dancing and chilling out with friends – all of which are most certainly needed as a stress-free break from the course! I am fun-loving, outgoing and love to get involved, which can be seen by my involvement in BizSoc as the current Social Secretary.
Why I got involved in summer party? Simply because it’s our biggest event and I want to make sure everyone who attend will have an amazing time and be a part of it all!!
Grace Wignall – Fancy Dress Parade Coorinator
1st year History and Politics student. This is my first year at Nottingham Uni and I’m really enjoying getting involved with the Students Union through the Summer Party. This year’s party is going to be full of amazing entertainment day and night, and hopefully will have the best parade yet! I can’t wait to see everyone dressed to impress :)
Ryan Holmes – Logistics Coordinator
2nd year Politics student. I loved the Summer Party last year and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to help organise one of the best events in the SU calendar. I enjoy working on large events and we’ve got a great team to make this year’s Summer Party be the best yet. Most of all I’m looking forward to the day itself when all our hard work finally comes together and everyone will be able to have a great time!
Joe Hesford –Health and Safety Coordinator.
2nd year English and Philosophy student. I’ll be in charge of the Health and Safety aspects of the event so fingers crossed nobody will come out of it with broken bones or electrocuted! Having sold tickets for the summer party last year I was unsure on whether or not to get involved with it again after the relentless phone calls and messages about tickets for last years event. As you can imagine it kept me busy all through the end of last year without the added burden of exams. However when I received an e-mail about a chance to get involved with the organisation of the event I decided to go for it with the attitude that you only get these chances once. Now that I’m on the team I want to try and bring that Glastonbury feel to the Summer Party and look forward to bringing everything together in an effort to hopefully create the best Summer Party yet.
